Hand Made Stool crafted in Olive Ash and Oak Featuring Walnut Seat Wedges
Last olive ash stool made from a board I had. Like all my stools, it's a one off, and has my name and logo fixed in the bottom of the seat.
The timber was sourced from a specialist sawmill in Devon.
It's a nice chunky plectrum shape, popular with my clients. The seat has a natural waney grain. The olive color in the ash contrasts beautifully, a butterscotch shade. The oak legs blend in perfectly. It is made traditionally, in the old way by hand. The seat is sculpted with a Farrier's file, the legs are hand turned. Black walnut seat wedges set it off nicely. Six to eight coats of Danish oil sanded in, both seal the wood and give it a beautiful natural luster.
It is a medium to large sized stool. They take quite a long time to make.
Leg span at base - 50 x 50 cm; seat is 35 x 35 cm and 5.5 cm thick; stool height is 39 cm; weight is 3.3 kg.
