Hand Made Stool crafted in Rare Cornish Brown Ripple Ash Featuring Walnut Seat Wedges
Finding ripple grained ash is discovering treasure. Like all my stools it has my name and logo fixed in the bottom of the seat.
The timber was sourced from a specialist sawmill in Devon. The grain and color is a treat for the eyes when you apply the first coat if oil.
It has a plectrum shape, popular with my clients. The seat shows off the natural waney grain and coloring. The seat is sculpted with a Farrier's file, the legs are hand turned. Black walnut seat wedges set it off nicely. Six to eight coats of Danish oil sanded in, both seal the wood and give it a beautiful natural luster.
It is a medium sized stool. They take quite a long time to make.
Seat is 32 x 32 cm and 4 cm thick; stool height is 35 cm.
