Hand Made Stool - Cornish Oak # 13
Crafted in local medium Cornish oak featuring dark walnut wedges.
Barney Guy, my local tree surgeon had felled and milled this oak himself and was going to use them as worktops for his new kitchen, until I persuaded him to sell me a couple of boards.
Oak stools are quintessentially English and not surprisingly popular when I offer them for sale.
Like all my stools they have my name and logo fixed into the bottom of the seat.
This is one of the medium to larger sizes, comfortable for sitting on, or an ideal sofa side table height. It has some very nicely pronounced growth rings in the seat and features a cheeky 'v' shaped wedge in contrast to the other two.
6 to 8 coats of danish oil are sanded in to both seal the wood and give it a beautiful natural luster.
