Hand Made Stool crafted in Rare Cornish Ripple Ash Featuring Walnut Seat Wedges
Finding ripple grained ash is discovering treasure. Like all my stools it has my name and logo fixed in the bottom of the seat.
The timber was sourced from a specialist sawmill in Devon. The ripple grain of the seat is a butternut color suggesting movement, the black walnut seat wedges add a pop of darkness and feature.
It is sculpted with a Farrier's file. The legs are hand turned. It is treated with about 8 coats of linseed oil to both seal the wood and give it a beautiful natural satin luster. The end result is a very smooth and tactile piece of furniture.
It is a small sized stool which is popular as a wedding present.
Seat is 28 x 28 cm and 4 cm thick; stool height is 28 cm.
