Hand Made Stool crafted in Rare Cornish Ripple Ash and Brown Oak Featuring Walnut Seat Wedges
Finding ripple grained ash is discovering treasure. This seat has legs made from beautiful brown oak. Like all my stools it has my name and logo fixed in the bottom of the seat.
The timber was sourced from a specialist sawmill in Devon. The ripple grain of the seat is a butternut color reminiscent of olive ash. The russet tones of the brown oak compliment the seat perfectly, the black walnut seat wedges add a pop of darkness and feature.
Like all my stools it is sculpted with a Farrier's file and sanded. The legs are hand turned. It is treated with about 8 coats of linseed oil to both seal the wood and give it a beautiful natural satin luster. The end result is a very smooth and tactile piece of furniture.
It is a small sized stool.
Seat is 35 x 28 cm and 4 cm thick; stool height is 33 cm.
