Hand Made Stool crafted in Rare Cornish Brown Ash Featuring Walnut Seat Wedges
Finding brown ash with a grain like this is discovering treasure. This stool, with its gold and sea blue resin feature is a distinctive one off. Like all my stools it has my name and logo fixed in the bottom of the seat.
The timber was sourced from a specialist sawmill in Devon. The grain and color is a treat for the eyes when you apply the first coat if finish.
The seat is enhanced by gold and blue resin features. On the underside, there is also some blue resin feature alongside my logo. The shape is sculpted with a Farrier's file, the legs are hand turned. Black walnut seat wedges set it off nicely. The stool is finished in oil and wax to both seal the wood and give it a beautiful natural satin luster.
It is a large sized stool. They take quite a long time to make.
Seat is 46 x 37 cm and 4 cm thick; stool height is 41 cm.
